"Everywhere is the new local"
Giving locally is so powerful. People are on the forefront of need; people see directly the impact of their tzedakah. A little support goes a long way.
When Bible says to love the stranger, it say that the stranger needs to live in a certain place.
The world is so small, what happens far away really affects us all. We see that pollution knows no borders -- and neither does a pandemic. We are all in this together.
When we give remotely, there are added benefits. The recipient knows that their cries resonate far. That they matter on a grand scale. Perhaps another community can achieve so much more with a $100 donation.
Our motto for this is Give Locally Everywhere or GLeE. This is a tribute to the great joy which comes from giving -- to both the recipient and the donor.
